Accreditation and Quality Assurance

Our accreditation and quality assurance (QA) activities are guided by transparency, independence, and adherence to international best practices.

We are committed to enhancing the quality and integrity of health and integrative medicine education through the external evaluation, validation, and accreditation of programs offered by educational institutions and professional organizations.

Our QA framework is designed to ensure that training programs in areas such as acupuncture, physiotherapy, nutritional medicine, traditional and integrative healthcare, and resilience promotion meet rigorous standards of academic quality, clinical safety, and ethical conduct.

Accredited programs receive the H+RI Quality Seal and are listed publicly on our website.

Principles of Our Quality Assurance Framework

Our framework follows international standards aligned with:

  • The World Health Organization’s Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (T&CM) objectives
  • The INQAAHE Guidelines of Good Practice (GGP, 2022)
  • Our QA system is supported by ISO 9001:2015 quality management principles applied across the Institute.

All evaluation and accreditation decisions are made independently, guided by objective evidence and free from commercial or institutional bias.

Continuous Quality Enhancement

We drive improvement via post-accreditation monitoring, data review, and capacity-building, while providers maintain compliance through continuous quality review and professional development.

Accreditation Process

Our accreditation process involves three main stages:

  1. Application and Institutional Self-Evaluation
The applying organization completes a structured self-evaluation form detailing curriculum content, learning outcomes, faculty qualifications, clinical training, quality management systems, and student support mechanisms.
  2. External Peer Review
A panel of independent experts appointed by the H+RI Scientific Committee conducts document review and, if necessary, on-site or virtual evaluation. The review focuses on educational quality, safety, and alignment with international standards.
  3. Validation and Decision
The Scientific Committee reviews all evidence and issues an accreditation report and decision. Accreditation may be granted for a period of up to five years, subject to mid-term review.

Fees are calculated based on scope and modality. After you submit, we’ll send an itemized proposal with a fixed quote within 15 business days, with no obligation until you approve.

Typical timeline: 30–60 days from receipt of a complete dossier; on-site evaluations may add 2–4 weeks. Pricing reflects number of programs, delivery mode, duration, faculty size, and any on-site visit, and includes a desk review, independent peer review by H+RI’s Scientific Committee, a decision report, and, if needed, an on-site evaluation.

Organizations wishing to apply for accreditation or program evaluation are invited to complete the form below.

We keep accreditation decisions fair and transparent. Reviews are conducted by the H+RI Scientific Committee using standard criteria and evidence.

Members must have no active affiliation or benefit with the applicant at the time of evaluation, such as teaching, ownership, employment, or paid collaboration. If any such link exists, they are excluded from that review or decision. Each case includes at least one independent QA check, and the final decision is ratified, for procedural compliance, by the Director or the Committee Chair.
